We are told to set cruise at 12-1500 rpm when sitting because of emissions. No low idle.

I will still always let it warm up especially in the cold. oil doesn't like to move at first in the cold and I ain't trying to burn up the motor

Idle does not warm up oil. Drive easy is the quickest way to warm oil, trans, hyd steering and differentials.

For newer Cummins with DPF systems should we just start the truck and start driving in 20 degrees ? Or should we bump the RPMS and let engine warm up to 150 or 180?

Some of the newer Peterbuilt CNGs don’t run well at all unless you warm it up for at least 5 minutes

I own a 1.1 million mile ISX never overhauled and I high idle it for an hour everyday in the winter before I leave. I change the oil religiously at 12k miles. the proof is in the pudding 😏🙄

I let my 6.0 high idle by itself. Cold weather I wait at least 20-30mins. Warm/hot days, maybe 3-5mins.
