@six_four_stout: Making the seat bases. I started by making a cardboard template to visualise the shape and contour. I then transferred that information to a flat sheet of steel and added a little beadrolled/ dimple die design to add a bit of rigidity to the flat area. I rolled the curve profile in the @machineryhouseau 3 in one roller. I then started to shrink the edges on the new power hammer. I hadn’t done anything like this before so it was a bit of a learning curve. I was really surprised at how far the material would shrink together before stress cracking. I smoothed the shrink marks by running it through the English wheel. The wheel stretches it back out a bit so I found I had to shrink it a little more beforehand to account for the stretch. I then used the frame itself with the soft hammer to stretch the edges out a little and smoothed it back out on the wheel. #toyotastout #metalshaping #powerhammer #pullmax #sheetmetal #beadrolling #dimple die #fabricstion
