I don't think fancalls should be stopped, but bigger groups should reduce how many they're doing and new rules need to be implemented for idols comfort and safety.

I'm a fan of Big Ocean and we buy fancalls each rather than buying tons of albums. I spoke to them a few weeks ago and will be again in January. the only fancalls I've ever done and it was so fun

fancalls should be 100% random, and not based on sales. every average joe should qualify. one entry per your proof of id, and not per how many times you enter.

for me, it's the amount of fancalls. tkd did like 55 calls in like 4 months... not counting promoting the song on shows and variety.

totally agree with you, fancalls are like a god’s gift for international fans who never have a chance to speak to them. what they should do is limit the number of fancalls each fans can do in one era

I don’t know about straight hanging up, but I’ve been told by a manager that each idol has a subtle cue to signal that they’re uncomfortable so the manager can make note of the name for blacklists

I also think fancalls are also a good option for disabled fans, like those who can’t go to see them irl or those who can’t really handle crowds. It would be bad if we took it away from them

For this comeback, I tracked fancall winners for Vernon to see how many times people won. For each member, there were 120 spots for fancalls with svt (meaning 120 spots for Vernon). Out of 120, he only met 61 people once. 59 slots went to people he had already seen during that comeback - 9 people met him twice, 11 saw him three times and 7 people saw him four times during this comebacks yzy calls. Out of the 7 people who saw him four times, one was the moo guy, one was the “kadarsian concept” fansite, and one is another fansite who got called out recently for going into restricted airport areas. 🤸 🕳️

Part of the issue is fans don’t quite realize they’re done for profit. Should companies make the purchase process more eco-friendly? Absolutely. They’ll never limit the number to purchase, however.

it’s a nice concept but they should limit how many one fan can win that way it stays fair for everyone. Obviously they could blacklist fans who ask uncomfortable questions or act inappropriately

Nugu v well known group fancall experiences are wildly different. Groups that dont tour outside of KR would never get to meet their intl fans without fancalls. 2 changes I would make 1) you can’t win

Probably controversial, but I am in favor of ending individual fan calls. I think instead of a fan call with each member, we could explore a group call. All members and all fans at once.

not stop, but they should change the rules, like max one fan call (per member) per comeback. when artists literally say I saw you yesterday and I will see you tomorrow that's not a good thing

I think there should be limits about how many times you can win. twice a year max. also I wish I knew how to enter for smaller groups because it'd be so fun to let them know how much international fan

Video calls are sometimes the only thing keeping group with a small intl fanbase and no Korean fanbase afloat. I often wonder if topp dogg would have lasted longer if they had video calls
