Since it’s a steam cleaner, it’s pressurized so the pressure inside the chamber is too much that’s why the safety is on and not letting you open it. You need to wait until it cools down completely unplugged so that you can add more water in.

OH MY GOSH I’VE BEEN TRYING TO 15 MINUTES AND ABOUT TO THROW IT AWAY. I HAVE PLIER AND A WRENCH. Did you finally get yours open? I’m about to scream.

Unplug it, release the steam pushing the ON botton until the red seal release on top of the lid goes down(like a pressure cooker) press down and twist

it doesn’t open cause it still has pressure. You need to push a trigger and let more steam out once it’s all out then you’ll be able to open it.

thank God for the answers, I thought I broke it. lol I'll try once it cools down. I did release all the steam, so it must just still be too hot. fingers crossed it works in 10 minutes.
