She could’ve said oh you’re getting a tree? We can’t watch the kids while you do it. If she wants to get a tree, that’s fine, but if nobody wants to watch her misbehaved kids that’s their choice.

So mom's trying to balance work while watching the kids vs dad when home is only watching the kids. I'm sure there is more supervision when both parents are home vs one parent who's also working.
