You can file a complaint online- I had to do this with my last NYC apartment. It’s illegal for them to not have it on right now. Room has to maintain a certain temp (just google it, that’s what I did)

They are required by LAW to put it on. it's not a convenience. So call 311, everyday until the landlord understands. Go to court they will ensure he does.

Order a room thermometer on Amazon and document temps. I was having an issue with inconsistent heat in my apartment this year too and started texting pictures to my landlord and super with the temp

I live in the Bronx and I’m having this situation since last year and no matter how many calls to 311 they don’t fix it. Landlord excuse is his app says a different temp so he is not breaking the law

you could put a bag of frozen peas on your thermostat. I had a landlord that put the heat to 58 to save$. cost him so much money in tech fees because he couldn't figure out why it was malfunctioning😁

That sucks. Sorry, your experiencing this. I read that you don't have the space for a space heater, but marshalls and tjmaxx sometimes have space heaters for smaller apartments. I hope this helps!

Get a thermometer and text him photos of the heat if it drops below. I’d bet you’re cold but it’s legally sound and he’ll say to just get blankets, unfortunately.

It happened to me last lease cycle took and it took them two months to fix the boiler we then got a rent concession of 50% off and got renewed at the same rate with now working heat. Call 311.
