We can a bank account in Mexico . Though the year we deposit from the us into our Mexico account. Especially when the $ is good , when we go for vacation we take out of the atm or go inside

Get a credit card with no foreign fees and use it for purchases. You get really good exchange rates. I use Capital One

Citibank = (Citi)BANAMEX . or Bank of America = Santander. If you bank with these in the US &use their counterpart in Mexico, there’s no transaction or conversion fee.

when the ATM asks if you agree with the conversion rate, decline. that way it will use the exchange rate from your American bank instead of the mexican bank.

Why don’t you get pesos in the states? Go to the bank and ask for a certain amount but usually it takes 2 days to get the money if they don’t have it

I have Santander Bank 🇺🇸 and withdraw at Banco Santander 🇲🇽 with zero international fees. I also decline the conversion rate the ATM offers upfront and get an even better rate.

It also charges you a fee for using the mexican ATM. Your bank charges you for using the ATM and the bank charges you the currency exchange. Atleast thats what my bank does.
