Ever since I got back from Europe, I’ve been thinking a lot about why I started social media in the first place. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve created art. Whether it was something visual or pieces of writing, creating has always been my form of therapy. A way to itch the scratch of feeling absolutely everything and anything all the time. In a sense, I’ve always used Instagram as a digital diary. A place to document what I’m seeing, feeling, learning, questioning, becoming… in hopes that maybe it inspires someone else to create too, or at the very least, makes them feel a little less alone. Somewhere along the way, that morphed into working with so many women who wanted to see the light on the other side too. Women who could feel there was more for them. Who wanted to transform their lives into the masterpiece they always felt in their hearts was possible. And I know that feeling because I’ve completely transformed my own life. The evidence is on paper. I can go back through old journals and almost read my life like a book. Things I wrote about years ago, places I wanted to see, versions of myself I wanted to meet, experiences I wanted to have… somehow became my real life. Sometimes it feels like I foreshadowed my own life through my desires. There is so much power in writing something down. In creating something before there’s any evidence it exists yet. And lately, I’ve been thinking about all of this because coming on here and doing trends is fun, but I’m getting so bored lol. I don’t want to constantly think about what will perform well or how to package every thought into something palatable. I want to come back to the reason I started this thang in the first place. To make things. To write things. To document a life that once only existed in my imagination. To say what I’m actually thinking and maybe make someone else feel a little less alone in what they’re thinking too. Less performing. More art. More stories. More of whatever is actually alive in me at the time. I think I just want to create again. 💕
