DETAILS👇🏽 This IKEA console was begging for a modern makeover. Challenge accepted. I removed the wonky legs and built it a new base using my @HARTToolsUSA miter saw. I then took off the hardware and doors using my hand-dandy Hart drill, gave the whole thing a good scuff sand and then painted it in this gorgeous barnwood finish. What do you think? Can you tell it’s from IKEA? STEPS 1. Removed legs, doors and hardware 2. Built base using scrap wood and the original legs 3. Fill hardware holes 4. Degloss with QCS Surface Cleanser (ShellyChic10 for 10% off) 5. Prime with Retique It Wood’n Primer. 2 coats. Let dry. 6. Brush on Retique It Barnwood stain and run graining tool through it. Let dry. 7. Brush on 2nd coat of Barn Wood. Let dry. 8. White wash with Retique It White Wash stain 9. Topcoat with Retique It Tripletique 10. Add hardware #ikeahack #furnituremakeover #furnitureflip
