millennial_prof_z :
the biggest problem I've found with AI is that it will be sycophantic to a request. It won't give the best answer, it will give the answer that best caters to the user's expectations.

AI isn't just a tool—it's becoming a scapegoat for tough decisions. The real issue is who's pulling the strings and avoiding accountability.

Me when I don’t understand how AI works. Running simulations is different from ML, training a ML model searches for local minima optimizations in complicated problems and is useful in—

Feed an AI model cherry picked data, and you will get the results you want

Is this bad though? Won't the AI legitimately make better decisions than humans? Assuming the humans aren't lying about the output.

People would never stand for AI making decisions like that.

Sounds a lot more likely to be the case with quantum computing, as most wont have access to one, and its much better than probably

Really good take. What we need to collectively realise is that the ai (or those controlling it) will see us as an obstacle to progress once our labour is not valuable

I mean, I would trust AI to model statistical outcomes of a business failure. I’d still have a third party double check it. Whose job is it to determine business viability? The owner? A bank?

The danger posed by AI doesn’t come from its intelligence, but from our stupidity in how we use it.

Right we will have access to AI so we run simulations that contradict theirs. If you tell it to create a path forward without layoffs, it will.
