When Daniel sees Mr. Miyagi practicing the crane technique on the beach in the distance, this is actually stunt double Darryl Vidal wearing a bodysuit and a bald cap. We later see him playing the semi-finalist who loses to Johnny in the tournament. The referee in the final match is Pat Johnson, who is a karate expert and former student of Chuck Norris. He was also credited as the fight instructor and choreographer for the movie. One of the Cobra Kai students still shows up for class even though he has his arm in a sling from his fight with Mr. Miyagi. When Daniel is humiliated at the country club, the song playing was Fascination Waltz. In The Karate Kid Part 2, when Chozen picks Daniel and Mr. Miyagi up from the airport, he changes the radio until the song Fascination Waltz comes on and then nods at Daniel.
