It feels less like it being told as it is happening and more like a ptsd nightmare. The men aren't marching anymore, they haven't for years, but the reader still hears them every night, over and over and over and over...

I’d like to point out that what makes THIS, since this is from the 28 Years Later trailer, particular audio so unsettling is that there isn’t just a beat in the poem. What little music is playing sounds like a march as well. It sounds like marching boots.
