We always crushed up the shells and mix it back into their feed to replenish their calcium

takes 18ish house to form the shell, that just moved through to fast, unless it's a regular occurrence, then there's a likely reproductive tract issue

Ya membrane. Happens once in a while add real crushed quahog and oyster shell 🐚 for soft shell and moulting. When they drop feathers 🪶 xtra. Calcium 😊🔥🇺🇸🐚

If you feed your chickens the used shells it will help give them the calcium they need to properly produce the shells

grumpyrodney007 :
older chickens, like after 4-5 years plus, start to lose calcium in the egg shells naturally. add oyster shells or a calcium food additive
