i just blew my funded account. one day away from payout. and it all happened in 20 seconds.. i am so annoyed right now - annoyed at myself, at the situation, at the fact that it wasn't even a bad trade that took me out. i went long at market open thinking i was trading 5 mnq - but i had the nq chart open instead. so without realising it, i entered 5 nq contracts. if you know, you know - that's a completely different size. before i could even realise, the account was gone in 20 seconds. and then price went up 200 points straight after, exactly the trade i would have taken. a few thousand dollars in profit and a payout i could have requested end of day - gone because of one stupid mistake. i sat there for a moment completely speechless. shocked that i could make such a careless mistake. annoyed that i didn't double check the chart. annoyed that price took off exactly how i thought it would. and most of all, annoyed that it happened one day away from a payout. But I could sit here and drown in my own frustration for hours. I could let this mistake ruin my mood, my day, and my interactions with people around me. But I won’t. If there is one thing trading has taught me, it’s that you cannot let a bad trade ruin a good life. The lesson is expensive, but it’s clear: Double-check the product before you click. That mistake will never happen to me again. The market will be there tomorrow, and the edge that got me to this payout will get me to the next one. I’m human. I messed up. It is what it is.
