I am in Canada, and here the native speakers use 'eh' instead. For example, 'It is very cold today, eh?'. I think there are various slang terms that are specific to each country 😊

"aren't I" is more practicable and grammatically correct since it emphasizes that it's hypothetical. "am I not" doesn't go well.
