@officiallynapster: ✨ Duke’s story ✨ On Sunday October 20, my husband and my Service Dog Duke were mauled by our neighbors vicious dog. This dog has been aggressive in nature for a while and after multiple reports, animal control has done minimal things to do anything about the dog. Duke sustained two severe dog bites, a laceration to his paw and abrasion to his shoulder, and worst of all- a torn Cruciate ligament (think doggie ACL). His vet believes this TPLO Surgery is his greatest chance for success and the most mobility for Duke. This procedure changed the angle of the leg so that Duke can manage walking and using the leg without that tendon that was torn. Dogs have a very hard time healing that tendon, as there is little to no blood flow to the area, making it hard for the body to fix it. The surgery went well and now we are just going to paddle down the river of healing. He has a long river to row, but we are going to do it together. Just like we do everything else.
