Parenting isn’t selfish. Don’t let anyone tell you different. It takes sacrifice and commitment and it’s the greatest gift we can offer the next generation. In a world where children are disrupting to our lives, we must remember they’re gifts from the Father/ Creator/ and giver of life. They’re not mistakes. And they bring great wealth in this life and the next. Something the Lord has really laid on my heart lately, that I pray doesn’t offend but rather convicts many, is how can we be pro life while preventing what we’re standing for? How can we condemn abortion while cutting off body parts to stop a baby from forming? How can we be pro life while injesting chemicals that have the ability to abort? How can we be pro life while spilling our seed in order to not allow life from forming? I know that sounds harsh. We’ve justified our decisions for generations with the thinking that we’re not killing anyone but is that true? Do you think my children are the will of God? I do. I know they’re all planned and created before they were ever formed in my womb. But I also know I could have made very different anti life choices. I could have gotten a tubal or stayed on birth control. We could’ve kept pulling out. Pro life means we rejoice, celebrate and accept every life God has for us to receive no matter what. He gets the say on who lives. He will give us over to our own resources. As he did in the Bible when they pulled out and killed their children in the fire. Those were clearly not his will. The other day I saw a post debating if LGBTQ was sin in the Bible. One of the arguments used was contraception and preventing life. We argue that homosexuality doesn’t reproduce so it can’t be of God, along with many other scriptures, yet we who can reproduce are doing everything we can to stop it. They went on to argue, stopping Gods plan in reproduction is a lifestyle sin just as the homosexual lifestyle. So who are we to throw the stone. I found it quite intriguing. An argument I hadn’t heard before but makes sense. This life of trusting God to give life as he pleases has been hardwork, and sacrifice BUT nothing short of life giving and ultimate blessings.
