We actually stayed in Italy, Iceland, AND France for free! And for a family of 7 that is a HUGE savings! @homeexchangecom is a home sharing community that allows you to redeem points towards others homes around the 🌍 . You earn points by listing your home for exchange, and even by referring your friends to the community. Each member is verified through ID verification. And, there is a rating system to give you an idea of the home experience you can expect. You decide the availability of your home and whether you want to do a reciprocal exchange- meaning you swap house for the same days. Or, you can offer to your home or book someone else’s home to earn or by redeeming points. Home Exchange came highly recommended to us from friends who are very well traveled world travelers and have used Home Exchange for years. So we wanted to give it a try and so goad we did! Tips for booking: ⏰Search early. I was looking for about 4-6 wks out and the availability was smaller bc of the closer date request. The earlier you can start the better chance you have of an exchange request being accepted. 🧭 Expand your search radius. We stayed an hour north of Rome and we had an INCREDIBLE time exploring small Italian towns. Had we stayed in the city I don’t know that we would have ventured into small Italian villages like we did. It was an amazing experience! (But! if you’re only staying a few days then stay in the city. Longer transit time to the main tourist stops isn’t worth staying further out.) 🗓️Look for at least 7 days. We realized most hosts preferred at least a week. And, it makes sense. They earn points and it’s a lot of work to prepare for a family for a 2-3 day stay. ❓Read reviews and ask questions. most hosts were happy to answer any questions I had. 🏰Ask the host for local recs. Our hosts in Italy gave us an incredible list of local places to explore! It made our visit so incredible! To join there’s a link in our b i o. By joining through us you’ll receive bonus points and we will, too ☺️ You can join without actually making your house an active listing yet. I originally joined to browse and didn’t book for nearly a yr! Drop ❓👇🏼 and let us know if you join! #worldschool #familytravel #worldschooling #travelvlog #housesharing #homeexchange #seetheworld #traveltheworldnow #viral #travelfamily #travelwithkids
