This is probably my most painful experience. My parents were great, and then I grew up and realized, my normal, wasn't normal. And in their last years, when I tried to help, that wasn't the help they wanted or needed. It's hard to look back and recognize, I should have remembered the younger years, and just let them be who they were.

Healthy boundaries can mean no contact or minimal contact if they are unsafe to be around. It can mean not bringing grandkids around too.
