My job is also like this. In your first 3 years you only earn 5 days of PTO a year, and if you call in, they use your PTO, and it is not optional.

Uk here, I have 38 days per year holiday, full paid sick leave for up to six months and half pay after that. Also when I’m sick it’s free to see the dr and get treatment, and ww2 was 85yrs ago…

I'm sorry, I've never worked where you got paid sick days, but if they're gonna not pay you for one or the other, why not just take the vacation time unpaid? What's the difference?

Denmark. I get 6 weeks of paid vacation. 11 paid public holidays off. 3 paid self care days. And sick days are seperate from that. You guys SERIOUSLY need unions.

In the UK I'm currently on an average of 38 paid days off plus four extra paid days for volunteering. Unlimited sick leave with a doctor's note only required after several consecutive weeks off.

28 days minimum in the uk. Most places give you 28 plus bank holidays, Christmas Eve/day/Boxing Day/new year. But we also have Piers Morgan.

UK at the minimum wage end here. I get the required 28 days PTO. by law. PTO cannot be used for sick days (massive protections on sickness here) I have unlimited sick days by law BUT the first 3 days

If they automatically use your PTO for when you call out sick and you didn’t consent to that, get in touch with I believe the BBB or a local union if that’s an option. They cannot legally require you
