honeydew sago 🍈 (a reupload because i messed up on an ingredient the first time around and i dont want you to be making less than perfect sago!!) i didn’t know so many of you are allergic to mango (i’m sorry for your loss) so this is for you to fill the mango shaped hole in your heart. i actually ate melon sago a lot more than mango sago. i would argue that it’s even more refreshing than the mango version? i like using a mix to cantaloupe and honeydew.. if you are feeling wild, throw in some watermelon in there. you do you!  melon sago (makes 8 servings!) 2/3 cup sago pearls 2 cups honeydew melon, cut into 1/4-inch cubes 2 cups cantaloupe melon, cut into 1/4-inch cubes 1 1/2 cups coconut jelly, drained 2 cups full-fat coconut milk 1 cup plant-based milk* (avoid using dairy milk for this because it will react funny with the melon) 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (more if you prefer sweeter) in a large pot of water to a boil. add sago pearls and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent pearls from sticking to the bottom of the pot. cook pearls for 10 minutes. remove pot from heat and put lid on the pot and cover pearls for 15 minutes, until the white centres of the pearls are no longer there. once pearls are ready, drain the water and run pearls under cold water until they are no longer hot. set aside. remove rind and seeds from melon. cut melon into 1/2 inch cubes. set aside. in a large bowl combine coconut milk, milk, and condensed milk. mix until combined. add cut melon, coconut jelly, and sago pearls. mix. transfer melon sago to refrigerator and chill for at least 1-2 hours. serve once chilled. #sago #chinesedessert #homecafe #melon
