They have other places to hide for now. Honestly it will be ok. Hay runs out fast with guineas. Just make sure they get the right size next time

Looks like first cut Timothy - same thing as the oxbow Timothy but it’s not cut into smaller strands or handpicked through. They’ll eventually eat it I wouldn’t worry too much. Mine get local 2nd cut

your guineas will survive, next time go with your parents and try to stick to one brand that you know is cut a specific way. might help.

Mine get the same thing from farm now fleet. It is a bit compressed but mine love it I just fluff it up and they are able to burrow n hide

we don't get timothy hay because the piggies hate it and can't hide in it. grass hay from a farmer is cheap and piggies absolutely love it.

You could just mix it in or sprinkle some on top so they can still burrow in it because that looks great for their teeth and it will give a different variety and texture of hay

I'm assuming this was bedding hay, maybe try reusing shredded paper? most offices/library would be happy to give you it free. I used it for my rats, just had to spot clean more.

Can you get better hay and sell that hay to a farm or something? Or take scissors to it - regular kitchen scissor should cut thru it

Yesss I always get local Timothy hay bc it’s so much softer and the Guinea pigs love it. Most brands at the store are so hard and never get eaten

They can still eat it, it may take some time if they are picky but it’s safe for them to eat

When my son had his guinea pigs they got the same hay as the horses. It’s not necessary for it be in little tiny bits.
