🎃 EASY HALLOWEEN OREO POPS The Halloween fun continues! Halloween Oreos dipped in a smooth vanilla coating and decorated as Purple People Eaters, witches, eyeballs and Beetlejuice-inspired stripes. Make a mix or choose your favorite designs! Makes: 12 Oreo pops Prep Time: About 40 minutes Set Time: About 20 minutes INGREDIENTS • 12 Halloween Oreos • 12 food-safe flat wooden popsicle sticks • 1 bag (10 oz) Ghirardelli White Vanilla Flavored Melting Wafers • Purple oil-based candy coloring • Green oil-based candy coloring • Small candy eyes • Large candy eyes • Candy corn • Black cookie icing that sets for stacking, such as Betty Crocker Decorating Cookie Icing • Red cookie icing that sets for stacking, such as Betty Crocker Red Decorating Cookie Icing DIRECTIONS 1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. Melt a small amount of the white melting wafers according to the package directions. 3. Gently twist each Oreo apart. Add a small dab of melted coating to the creme, place the end of a popsicle stick in the center and replace the top cookie. Press together gently. 4. Refrigerate the Oreo pops for 10–15 minutes to help secure the sticks. 5. Melt the remaining white melting wafers according to the package directions until smooth. Divide the coating into separate bowls for the designs you want to make. Leave some white and tint portions purple and green with oil-based candy coloring. 6. Dip each chilled Oreo pop into the desired coating until covered. Let the excess coating drip back into the bowl, then place the pop on the parchment-lined baking sheet. 7. Decorate as desired: PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS 💜 Coat in purple. While the coating is still soft, add one large candy eye and press the wider end of one piece of candy corn into the top of the Oreo with the pointed end facing up to make the horn. Once set, add a simple black smile and small green coating dots or accents. Each Purple People Eater should have exactly one eye and one horn. WITCHES 🧙‍♀️ Coat in green and add two small candy eyes while the coating is still soft. Once set, add purple-tinted coating along the upper sides for hair. Pipe a simple pointed witch-hat outline and smile with black cookie icing. Add a small dot of green coating for the nose if desired. EYEBALLS 👁️ Coat in white and let set. Add a large green coating circle in the center for the iris and let set. Pipe a black pupil in the center and add a few thin, irregular red icing veins extending inward from the outer edge. BEETLEJUICE-INSPIRED STRIPES 🖤💚 Coat in white and let set. Pipe several bold, slightly irregular black stripes across the surface. Add small green and purple coating accents such as dots, squiggles, lines or light drizzles, keeping the black-and-white stripes as the main design. 8. Let the Oreo pops stand until the coating and decorations are completely set before serving or storing. If individually wrapping the pops, allow the cookie icing and coating decorations to dry completely before placing them in treat bags. DECORATING OPTIONS Use oil-based candy coloring made for chocolate or candy coatings. Water-based food coloring can cause melting wafers to seize. Reuse the same green- and purple-tinted coating across the different designs to keep decorating simple. Make a mix of all four designs, choose just one or two favorites, or decorate them however you like. Small handmade differences are part of the fun! Regular Oreos can be substituted if Halloween Oreos are unavailable. STORAGE Store the Oreo pops in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 5 days. If your kitchen is warm, refrigerate them. Make sure all decorations are completely dry before stacking or wrapping. #fall #Otoño #halloweenrecipe #halloween #autumnvibes
