@chrisluckhardt: Abandoned Soviet Space Shuttle 🚀 Filmed during my second winter trip. The first trip was in October 2019. Ptichka 2K-1.02 (typo in the video!) is the second Buran-class orbiter, abandoned here by Russia in August 1995. It was produced as part of the Soviet Union's Buran programme. Although it was the closest to being completed of any of the Buran-class orbiters - after the first orbiter named Buran - it was never finished. The program was officially cancelled in 1993, at which point the shuttle was 95-97% complete. And no, it was not a direct copy of the US Space Shuttles despite its outward appearance. #fyp #abandoned #space
