The boat rides from Bali to the islands are not for the weak, especially if you’re going a bit further. We went from Bali to Gilli Trawangan from Padangbai and it was honestly the worst experience - we booked a decent sized boat but there was no air con, we couldnt open the windows otherwise people would get wet and it was SOO rocky for almost 3 hours. Also the port at Padangbai was so small, super packed, there was no comfortable waiting space and the boats were really delayed because of how many boats were coming here. Gilli Trawangan is HEAVEN though, probably my absolute favourite island so far, so YES you have to add it to your bucketlist. I just reccomend travelling from Sanur and going on newer boats with Aircon like Ekajaya (more expensive, fully airconned, brand new and much faster) More travel, food and Bali tips @heyfionawang #travel #bali #Gillit #gillitrawangan #balitips #boat
