I used to know a woman who bought half the fleece from a sheep named Henry every year. She had the fleece cleaned and spun it into yarn. She then used that yarn for all the traditional things

I live near an Alpaca farm, they have a store in town and work with other farms to process the fibers and make/sell the goods. I have a hat, mittens and several socks I just love from them.

My dad sheared way back in the day. Occasionally he accepted the fleece for payment. I remember us taking it to the train station. I don’t think he made much , but he helped elderly sheep farmers 💕
