@mama.michelle00: On a freezing Saturday afternoon, volunteers with the local non-profit BeLoved delivered two tiny homes to a father and son whose homes in Fletcher were flooded during Hurricane Helene. Luis Chavez and his father Florentino Chavez live next door to each other in a small community that backs up to an offshoot of Hoopers Creek. On Saturday, the creek barely flowed. But during the storm in late September. water levels reached more than halfway up the homes. The Chavez family evacuated but their houses, along with others in the community were ruined. Volunteers Nicole Lugo, her father Eric Lugo, and JayMac McCarty delivered the tiny homes and set up each unit on the Chavez family's lots. The two homes are part of 50 units donated by Lowe's and being delivered by BeLoved to families whose houses were damaged or destroyed during Hurricane Helene.
