If an attacker forces entry, it latches on. He can't remove it. He can't walk. He can't urinate. The only way to take it off is surgery — which means a hospital visit, police identification, and DNA evidence. She unveiled it in 2005 in South Africa — a country where over 50,000 assaults are reported every year. But it was never mass-produced. Critics said it could provoke worse violence.
