Fairy Bread Day is almost here🩷🩵💛💜💚 So let’s reinvent this classic snack & make Fairy Bread Slice✨ @The Pyjama Foundation  Ingredients: - 2 cups plain flour  - 1/2 cup caster sugar - 250g unsalted butter, softened - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Toppings: - 1 cup icing sugar - 2 tablespoons butter, softened - 1 tablespoon milk - hundreds & thousands  Method: 1. Preheat the oven to 160°C (or 140°C if using a fan-forced oven). Line a shallow baking pan with baking paper, leaving extra overhang (this helps with removal later). 2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, caster sugar, salt, and vanilla together until light and smooth. Add the flour and mix until fully combined. 3. Press the dough evenly into baking pan. Optional: score the surface into 12 even squares, then diagonally to create 24 triangles. 4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the shortbread is lightly golden and just firm to the touch. Let it cool completely, then cut along the scored lines to separate the 24 triangles. 5. In a small bowl, combine the icing sugar, softened butter, and milk, mixing until smooth and spreadable. 6. Pour the hundreds and thousands into a separate bowl. Spread icing on each shortbread triangle, then dip it face down into the bowl of hundreds and thousands, pressing lightly to coat the surface.
