that was how I found out (we read about St. Nicolas in the paper and she did NOT pre-read). honestly, my mom handled it well and explained that we do the Santa thing in honor of him and what he did, and said it was important to not ruin the magic for others, so 5-year-old me policed the older kids and gave them the same speech my mom did.

By definition a saint (or Santa) is someone who is dead, but we to heaven and usually has miracles attributed to them after death. This would still allow for Santa Claus to be delivering gifts

thats how im gonna be doing it lmao. hes a saint but we tell stories about him every year to honor him and the winter season and the spirit of giving, and you can pray to him like any other saint.
