Moving from the US to Canada radicalized me on this topic. All of the negative propaganda I’d been fed about Canadian healthcare was false. I get seen WAY faster than in the US. My meds are so cheap or free. I know I won’t go bankrupt if I need to go to the ER. Etc

Last time I had this argument w someone they said that it would take forever to see a doctor because all of the homeless people would go to the doctor…… it’s really just an empathy and privilege thing

Canadian here. My mom had failing kidneys and needed dialysis 3x a week. She picked up a near-lethal case of sepsis and was in hospital for two months. Cost for dialysis and that stay? $0.

I’m pro public option but I’ve heard of people going to the doctor for minor things like a cold or strep throat “just in case” when they could have just dealt with it at home
