Taking collard greens to the next level with this epic melt 🥪🔥🤤 Collard Greens (adding smoked turkey necks is optional) 8 cups collard greens (3 bunches), cleaned and cut into ribbons 2 Tbsp olive oil 1/2 white onion, diced 4 garlic cloves, minced 32 oz vegetable stock (add more if needed)  1 cup water 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar 1 Tbsp Creole seasoning (Tony Chachere’s) 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes 1 Tbsp liquid smoke (hickory) 1 tsp black pepper 1-2 chicken bouillon cubes Instructions: Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat. Cover and simmer for 1-1.25 hours until tender, stirring occasionally. Season to taste. Slaw: 2 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced 1/2 white onion, thinly sliced 2 Tbsp mayonnaise 1 tsp apple cider vinegar 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/4 tsp salt Mix in a medium bowl. Russian Dressing: 1 cup mayonnaise 3 Tbsp pickled hot cherry peppers (Cento brand) 1 Tbsp ketchup 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1/4 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp black pepper Mix in a large bowl. Sandwich: Rye bread (caraway preferred) Swiss cheese slices Instructions: Lightly oil or butter both sides of the bread, place in a pan over low heat. Add 2 slices of Swiss cheese on one slice of bread. Top with a handful of drained collard greens and slaw. Spread Russian dressing on the other slice of bread, place on top. Press with a sandwich press (or kitchen item), cook until the bread is browned. Flip and press again until the cheese is  melted. Enjoy! #sandwich #food #foodies #foodtiktok
