Jena Malone is playing effectively a child, it’s believable that she has minimal makeup on (though I believe it is a liquid blush not beetroot juice). Kiera has the period equivalent of a full beat

Both Keira Knightley and Rosamund Pike look like they have makeup on in multiple scenes. I believe it for the younger sisters in certain shots but nothing will ever convince me for the ball scenes.
