@nzstuff: Dramatic video shows fire on a deck at the RSA in Piha, on the coast west of Auckland, overnight.⁠ ⁠ Fire and Emergency NZ was called to the blaze at 11.51pm on Thursday, with crews sent from Piha, Karekare, Waiatarua, Glen Eden and Henderson.⁠ ⁠ Videos sent to Stuff show the structure well ablaze, with one firefighter standing on the deck of the restaurant trying to extinguish the fire.⁠ ⁠ Piha RSA described the fire as “devastating” in a post on its Facebook page on Friday morning.⁠ ⁠ “Unfortunately the RSA has suffered a devastating fire last night which has gutted the outside area adjacent to the building,” the post said.⁠ ⁠ “A huge thank you to the Piha crew and other appliances that arrived so quickly and managed to contain the blaze.⁠ ⁠ “Obviously the RSA will be closed for the immediate future and we will communicate any news and ways that people can help.”⁠ #auckland #fire #piha #nzstuff ⁠ 📹️ Ella House
