That does not sound like a DIY job to me. I’ve replaced brakes, hubs, alternators, starters, but a timing chain or belt is a serious repair.

Replaced the bent valves and go ahead and put new rings in it. Piece of cake job done more than my fair amount of them.

the rear cam likes to jump forward or backwards when removing the timing belt. I bet he didn't see that and put the belt on. however when doing these, you gotta make sure you're cam is on timing

That is one thing I won’t do. I have 318,589 on my 2013 Chevy Malibu LT. Should I have my timing belt changed? It doesn’t tick. It runs like new? Are the factory belts better than today’s parts?

As a 65 year old widow I put an alternator on my 2004 F150. Had to have my son help lift the alternator into the motor. That sucker was HEAVY. Proud moment when it actually started.
