I work in Tech, there have been mass layoffs for 3+ years, partly because tech companies want to save money by hiring offshore. We work very hard, they don’t care, they want cheaper labor.

Grandpa was a middle school dropout. Dad just a high school degree. Both homeowners and had 3 and 4 kids on ONE income. Me? College edu, dual income home no kids... can't afford a home OR kids.

My parents bought several houses because we were in the military and moved a lot. we went on full vacations and weekend trips all the time. On one income, 4 kids!! I can't even dream of that.
