as a missoula resident- this is all super accurate 👌 prices went down so much. but it is worth mentioning our airport is tiny. we have 6 gates. I can see this being difficult to implement at scale.

Regulated airfares were EXPENSIVE- regular people COULD NOT afford to fly. Deregulation made flying really affordable until about 2010 then seeing more of a monopoly. Europe has competition & is cheap

When I interned at United. I remember the senior managers talking about how they were able to out bid Frontier for a bunch of gates. They couldn’t stop laughing about it
