Venison Backstrap Caprese Sandwiches Grilled to perfection on the @Kamado Joe 🔥 Ingredients For the venison:
• 1 lb venison backstrap
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tsp kosher salt
• ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper For the sandwiches:
• 4 ciabatta rolls
• 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
• 2–3 ripe tomatoes, sliced
• Fresh basil leaves
• Olive oil or mayonnaise, for toasting the bread
• Balsamic glaze
• Flaky sea salt
• Freshly cracked black pepper Instructions 1️⃣ Pat the backstrap dry. Lightly coat with olive oil and season all over with salt and pepper. Let it sit at room temperature for 15–20 minutes while the grill heats. 2️⃣ Set your @KamadoJoe up for direct grilling at 450–500°F. 3️⃣ Grill the backstrap directly over the heat until it reaches about 125–130°F for medium-rare (or around 120°F for rare). Cooking time will vary depending on thickness, so go by internal temperature! 4️⃣ Remove from the grill and let it rest for 8–10 minutes. 5️⃣ While the venison rests, slice the ciabatta rolls in half. Lightly coat the cut sides with olive oil or mayo and toast cut-side down on the grill for 1–2 minutes, until golden and lightly charred. 6️⃣ Slice the rested backstrap very thin against the grain. 7️⃣ Layer the bottom half of each ciabatta with the sliced venison. Top with alternating slices of mozzarella, tomato and fresh basil. 8️⃣ Finish with flaky sea salt, freshly cracked black pepper and a generous drizzle of balsamic glaze. Add the toasted ciabatta top and enjoy. #VenisonRecipes #WildGameRecipes #VenisonBackstrap #KamadoJoe | venison backstrap recipe | grilled venison | venison sandwich | wild game recipes | venison recipes | wild game cooking |
