there's not enough info on type of candle or thumbtacks, but assuming it was the right materials to even get on the wall, so I'd just move the table.

In your description of the problem you did not say that the candle had to be lit. So the candle could simply be laid on the floor touching the wall. No matches or tacks needed!

The only difference I had was I didn’t melt wax onto the makeshift ledge. Rather, perforated the box in such a way that I could poke a hole through which will hold the candle.

I pictured large match box and large box of tacks. Both boxes being slightly larger than a box of playing cards. So with that vision I went with the tacked box on the wall and affixing candle to box

Admittedly, I haven't been through all the comments but has anyone wondered what the surface of the wall is? Because good luck getting thumbtacks in the wall if it's bare brick or plaster cement 🤔

Yeah, instantly, although I also threw in ‘gluing’ a pin with the wax to also help secure the candle.

I thought that getting it to stick in the wall was not a problem so I just solved it this way: move the table away from the wall or put the candle on a wall that is not over the table.

LOL I said to stick one thumbtax in the red BACKSIDE of another one and build a chain:📌📌📌. Then put multiple chains into the wall beside eachother UNDER the candle, to make a platform like that.💀
