Idle time is still hour time too, have had engines with 30,000 hours with 1.5 million miles and 350,000 miles . Hours / miles both need consideration.

Throttle to 1-1200 in cold weather idling,,,never idle at dead lidle even i the summer ill throttle the C-15 to 900-1000 i also invested in a thermo king apu with a bunk heater.

Winter fronts and idle up to 900-1000 rpm’s maybe higher keep coolant temps at 180 or higher that’s what he referring too
