Today, I want to walk you through something that I am currently rehabbing. For the past few months, I have been experiencing some early signs of plantar fasciitis. I have modified my training a bit, but am also spending some extra time on my calves, ankles, and plantar fascia. I am spending a little bit of time foam rolling both my calf and my foot - simply to get some temporary relief and extra blood flow. For strength, I am doing standard calf raises with an eccentric focus. This will not only strengthen and increase tolerance on my calf, but also aid in increasing my ankle stability - tell me you could see how shakey my right ankle was in this video. I love simple calf raises because they are able to be progressed in so many ways - adding weight, adding height, adding movement - the list is endless. This rehab is still pretty new to me so I am still working on the basics.
