Too fast for a plane that doesn’t have landing gear extended. The pilots should have reduced the speed of a minimum to stay airborne and land on the foot of the runway for optimal stoppage time.

The silent walk of those firefighters,they know what’s waiting and it must be so heartbreaking to be first ones to go there. The mental preparement they must go thru during that walk. My condolences💔

Claimed bird strike but even with 1 engine down how is there no gear down, no flaps/slats, reverse thrust open on engine No2 but not No1?? Systems have back ups and those have back ups. Very strange!!

Why don’t airports have things set up for such emergencies? Like how carrier ships have a cargo net to stop fighter jets when they lose their landing gears? Or water canons built into runways?

I’m NOT an expert. But, I do watch flaps go down on approach every time I fly and I know it slows the plane. Why are there no flaps down? Anyone?
