I will say as Japan tour guide, 711 is definitely one of the cheapest but some money exchangers especially the kiosks w no ppl. But can confirm that getting yen in Japan vs home country is cheaper👍🏻

the exchange rate depends on the country. indonesia,SG do have decent exchange rate for currency. but I don't know how much is 7-11 exchange rate since they charge 100/200 yen as well?

Tbh I would change some money in the home country for the beginning. Last time after the 14 hour flight, I was very happy to have some and not have to search for an ATM like crazy to buy some water
