I dated a doctor who gave me an rx for zofran. He was a miserable gift giver in general but this one was excellent.

Being able to write Zofran for myself was worth the entire cost of my medical degree

As long as it’s not a narcotic, I don’t think anything about it.

as an RN, it feels weird they can do this but I can't even look at my own medical records with my own consent 😅

I have a common last name and I sometimes wonder when a patient I’m not related to, but has the same last name if the pharmacist is curious 👀

I work for a pediatrician and they've written me antibiotics. I'm sure the pharmacist looks at it a little funny, I'm 38 and the rx paper has a little teddy bear on it 😂

Listen. I’m done paying a copay just like the rest of America. Perk of the license.

I've been hoarding Zofran from my last pregnancy. But we got norovirus last week and now I'm eyeballing my last 2 pills. I was just wondering how I could convince someone to give me a refill

I only do this for my tretinoin/spironolactone and when I need the rare antibiotic — I’m not paying a $100 copay for urgent care for a simple infection 😅

I had severe nausea when I was pregnant and was on zofran from my OB. I moved 3 months into my preg and had a long wait to see a new OB, but was so thankful my family member wrote my rx for zofran✨

Our state medical board has an ethics statement against self prescribing or prescribing for family unless acute illness.

When you live with a provider, it’s hard to go to the dr for an antibiotic, steroid pac, etc. 🙃

I worry about ethics and then also I feel like providers should experience the healthcare system the same as patients

I’ve been a provider for 2 years but haven’t had the guts to do it yet. Even though I know it’s 100% legal in my state. I’m confident I’ll be arrested on the spot.

It’s one of the few perks of having prescribing capabilities! I honestly don’t see anything wrong with it either. If it saves a trip to the dr/co-pay then more power to them.

we had a dentist calling in paxlovid for him and his wife once and refused bc it was not in his scope of practice but I think that's the only problem like that we had.
