Thieves stole thousands of dollars' worth of tools from a work truck in broad daylight while a crew was working just feet away in the Heights, according to surveillance video and the truck’s owner. The theft happened near 26th Street and was over in less than two minutes. Houston police are investigating and looking for the suspects. Surveillance video captured the thieves pulling up next to Logan Fitzgerald’s work truck and breaking into it while Fitzgerald and his crew were working nearby. Fitzgerald said his crew was getting ready to leave when the theft happened. “Right when we were getting ready to leave, a pickup truck stole all my tools out of the back of it. Fitzgerald said he was working near 26th Street in the Heights, where his crew was moving a house that had been at the corner.
