@childbirthallies: 👀 Here’s what it might look like when your delivering provider (doctor or midwife) shows up for the main event! 👶 After you’ve been pushing and the baby is about to be born, your provider will likely do one of three things: 👉Remove the lower half of the bed and pull up a stool 👉Remove the lower half of the bed and raise it up to a comfortable height so they can stand 👉Leave the lower half of the bed attached, lower it down a bit and sit on the lower half Set up can depend on the delivering provider’s preferences, certain risk factors, and also the delivering person’s level of mobility. Even if you have an epidural, you can still push and deliver in different positions. For example, on your side. 💫If you have preferences about delivery positioning, make sure to let your care team know so they can make a plan with you. Our goal in sharing this is to increase familiarity with the labor & delivery setting. This can go a long way to reducing stress and being able to visualize birth better. 💌 Share this with someone you know who is preparing for birth 🫶 #childbirtheducation #laboranddelivery #newborn #baby #birth #laboranddeliverynurse #birthpreparation #birthprep #birthpreferences #expecting #birtheducation #postpartum #pushing
