@dailymail: Leading air safety expert David Learmount told news outlets that the construction of a concrete wall at the end of a runway was an 'almost criminal' error that led to the deaths of 179 people in a plane crash in South Korea. He went on to say that had the wall not been there, the plane would have instead hit a fence, slid over a road, and likely stopped in a nearby field. 'I think everybody would have been alive… the pilots might have suffered some damage going through the security fence or something like that. But I even suspect they might have survived,' Learmount said. Read more on DailyMail.com #southkorea #airplane #crash #bangkok #asia #news
the defining moment is failure of Boeing landing gear

I was truly confused when I saw a wall at the end of the runway

I'm not an aviation expert but having a concrete wall at the end of the runway makes no sense. Why not just wire fencing instead of a wall?

Boeing because if it’s DEI hiring and promotion practices has seen a massive slip in the quality and safety of their airplanes. The wall was a factor, but that plane went down on its belly…

I'm not professional but even i can see if it was just flat land and unless it turns and rolls the plane probably would just keep going till it stopped.

The people blaming Boeing clearly have no idea how aviation works. Don't listen to them, AME here. Yes the Maxs were boeing, but not these. These have been in service for decades.

so none is gonna talk about the pilot setting the plane down with less than 1/3 of the runway left and at an extreme speed.

It failed to engage the landing gear on first attempt of landing, second attempt it failed too but they got clearance to land anyways. Why not land on the sea which is like right beside the airport?

just curious, without the wall, how long would they continue to run on and is it possible for them to run to the roads?

An Embarear aircraft shot down by anti air missile mid air landed intact with most of the fuselage not burnt meanwhile you are telling me a Boeing couldn't handle a brick wall while already in landing
