@annsvan: A year ago today, I was picked up by an ambulance in London and taken to the hospital for a broken back. I had fallen down a flight of stairs. When I made this video that I posted 4 months after - I wanted my life to go back to the way it was. Before I broke my back and then wrist. Now, after the year I had… (which I felt like was the hardest year of my life) I would never want my life to go back to the way it was. After all the pain, suffering, anger, and lessons I’ve learned through the domino effect of things that happened this year… I’ve become an extremely strong woman. Not 💯 strong on the outside as I’m not fully back to normal physically… but my mind has become the strongest it’s ever been. There were many moments this past year that brought me to my knees in grief… I was scared of what “bad thing” would happen next. I had to really wipe the slate clean in order to come back to me and what I want, who I really am. I believe God only gives you things you can handle, but I certainly didn’t feel that way a lot this year. These past couple months I’ve been quiet, spending time with myself, God, my pets, my family, and a couple of close friends. I took out all the noise. This year, I’ve learned so many lessons. This year, I never want to do again but I wouldn’t take it back. So today I’m spending my day in writing… my thoughts and what I hope for next year. It’ll be tough because I do not want to relive any of it again, but I’m determined to not repeat any patterns, and to grow even more from it all. And to listen. Last year when I was in the hospital unable to walk or move a millimeter… I was given a word by God and it was “Open.” Yesterday at church I was given another word… and it’s “Truth” and “Faithful.” Happy New Year everyone! I’m excited to share more of my life in 2025… I’m blessed to have a community that keeps each other feeling less alone when life sometimes can be unbearable.
