Connie the container dog has a special announcement! 🐕 A group of astute Coast Guard members noticed scratching sounds coming from one container among tens of thousands of them while completing random expections on January 31st. They lowered the container and to their surprise, there was a dog inside who had been living in the container for at least a week without food or water. They named her Connie the container dog and got her to a vet immediately. Penny Edwards, who volunteers at Forever Changed Animal Rescue in Maryland, heard about Connie on the news and knew she wanted to help. She called Connie’s temporary shelter in Pasadena, Texas and offered to take her and help find her a proper forever home. The shelter agreed, but said that Penny had to arrange the transport. Connie was then transferred via private jet to Forever Changed, flown by generous volunteer pilots Karan Kapoor and Seuk Kim who were volunteering through Pilots N Paws. These pilots donated their time, energy and fuel to get her to the rescue, which will make sure she has a happy life. And Forever Changed has just made an announcement on behalf of Connie the container dog that means she’ll be in foster care a little while longer!
