This is new trend. We never done that. We always put a coin or so on the front door step and added cinnamon and salt.

You don't need to eat the grapes under the table, in spain we just eat them on the bongs of the clock at 12. You can even buy cans of 12 grapes.

I was always taught to put a dollar bill under the front door mat and leave there until next new year eve and you will have money coming into your home all year long. It has always worked for us.

I put mine on the top of the door frame when you enter my home. I really don’t think it matters where you place them as long as it’s by the door.
